Cranio-Sacral Therapy

Cranio-sacral therapy (also called CST, cranial osteopathy, or Cranio-Sacral bodywork) is an alternative medicine therapy used by osteopaths, massage therapists, naturopaths, chiropractors, physical therapists, and occupational therapists.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy

CST is a gentle non-invasive hands-on modality that addresses every system and function in the human body. Its main focus, however, is on the brain, spinal cord, dural membranes, cerebro-spinal fluids and the central nervous system. By listening to the rhythms within and supporting the body's own inherent wisdom to heal, balance can be restored.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy takes a holistic approach to healing and the interconnections of mind, body and spirit are deeply acknowledged.

It is suitable for people of all ages including babies, children and the elderly, and can be effective in acute or chronic cases.

A cranio-sacral therapy session involves the therapist placing their hands on the patient to tune into what they call the craniosacral system.

The practitioner gently works with the spine and the skull and its cranial sutures, diaphragms, and fascia. In this way, the restrictions of nerve passages are eased, the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spinal cord is optimized, and misaligned bones are restored to their proper position.

Conditions that benefit from Cranio-Sacral Therapy are: Physical injuries, Neurological disorders, Emotional & Psychological stresses, Birth trauma, Internal Imbalances, and Toxicity.

Such conditions as mental stress, neck and back pain, migraines, TMJ Syndrome, and chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia, are helped the most.
