Thai Muscular Therapy

Thai massageThai Muscular Therapy is a unique combination of Traditional Thai Massage, Tui Na (Chinese Medical Massage), and Neuromuscular Therapy.

Slava Kolpakov, LMT, has developed Thai MT in response to the growing interest of his clients to experience the healing and holistic nature of Thai Massage and to effectively address chronic tension and pain.

Thai massageThai Muscular Therapy (TMT) is performed on a Thai massage mat, or on a regular massage table, with the client fully clothed.

Slava has adapted NMT table techniques to the Thai massage mat and modified the practitioner's body mechanics to allow for utmost efficiency, effectiveness, and ease of movement.

"I started seeing Slava after elbow surgery knocked me out of my work out routine. That, plus a hectic summer, had also led to weight gain. We started with a Thai massage routine that supported rebooting my running program. Moving to the mat allowed for even better massage and stretching, and we are now incorporating yoga. The extra weight is gone, and the yoga in particular has helped me to maintain a solid exercise schedule. I encourage anyone looking for massage to try Slava's Thai massage. It has been especially beneficial to my joints. And the yoga is incredible. Having sustained my only sports related injury two years ago from a heated yoga class, I was nervous at first. But Slava's keen attention to form, and perfect pacing, make it a wonderful experience. I look forward to each and every time I come into the East West Body Therapy Studio!"

Through trial and exploration of what works and what doesn't with clients, Slava developed Thai MT in 2007.

Thai Muscular Therapy

He kept the structure, the floor mat setup, and the meditative attitude of Thai massage, while introducing effective techniques of NMT.

Thai MT transmits the relaxing and holistic experience of traditional Thai massage, while being an effective treatment for sports-related injuries, and chronic muscle tension and pain.
